The short version
Everything you make on EffectOven is made in your browser. Your entries, titles, videos and images are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. There are no accounts, no cookies and no ads. We count visits and exports anonymously, without storing anything on your device.
Who is responsible
EffectOven is run by Prospeir BV, Kemmelbergstraat 70 box 1, 2600 Antwerpen, Belgium (RPR Antwerpen, afdeling Antwerpen, company no. BE 0652.809.703). Prospeir BV is the controller for the little personal data described below. Contact us at hello@effectoven.com.
What stays on your device
The wheel you last edited (its entries, title and theme) is kept in your browser's local storage, so a reload doesn't lose it. It never leaves your device. The Clear button on the wheel removes it, and so does clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Cookies
EffectOven sets no cookies and shows no ads. Fonts are served from our own site, so loading a page doesn't contact Google. If this changes, this page will be updated first.
Anonymous usage statistics
To see what works and what breaks, we use PostHog, hosted in the EU (Frankfurt), in its cookieless mode. It records which pages are opened and a few steps in the tool: a spin, an export started, finished or failed, a video saved. With each step we record the settings involved (such as the format, the number of entries and the theme), and for an error its type and the place in our code where it happened. With all of these come the page and the site you came from, and your browser, its language, your operating system, screen size and time zone. It never records what you type, your entries or title, or anything you make.
Nothing is stored on your device. To count visitors, PostHog combines your IP address and browser into an anonymous code that changes every day, so a visit can't be linked to you or to your visits on other days; the IP address itself isn't kept. This is our legitimate interest in improving the tool (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)). PostHog processes this data for us under a data processing agreement. Blocking it, for example with an ad blocker, doesn't affect the tool.
Hosting
The site is delivered by Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) from its servers worldwide. When you open a page, Cloudflare receives the usual details of the request: your IP address, your browser and device type, the page asked for and the time. This is needed to deliver the site and to protect it against abuse, which is our legitimate interest (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)). Cloudflare handles this for us under its data processing agreement; transfers to the US are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, with the EU's standard contractual clauses as a fallback. We don't keep request logs ourselves, and we don't use this data to identify you.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction or erasure of personal data about you, ask us to restrict or stop processing it, or ask for a copy to take elsewhere. Email hello@effectoven.com. You can also complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
