How to make a spin the wheel video

  1. Type your entries, one per line. Add a title if you like, and pick a theme.
  2. Spin to see the wheel turn, tick and land, with confetti on the winner. Spin again as often as you want.
  3. Export the video in the format you need, then save it to your phone or download it. That spin, exactly as you saw it, is what you get.

Looking for a spin the wheel video template? This is one you fill in yourself: your entries, your title, your theme, saved as an MP4 you can post straight away.

Spin the wheel video ideas

  • Classroom picks: who answers next, which topic is up, or which group presents first.
  • What should we eat? Settle dinner, or film the wheel picking a restaurant for a food video.
  • Challenges: truth or dare, yes or no, or the video game character challenge, where you draw whoever the wheel lands on.
  • Turn order: who goes first in a game, who picks the movie, who does the dishes.
  • Prize draws: spin for the winner on camera, so everyone sees the draw. Keep it on Random for real giveaways.

Which format for which app

FormatSizeBest for

4:51080×1350Instagram feed
1:11080×1080Square
16:91920×1080YouTube

Videos are saved at 60 frames per second where your device can manage it, for smooth motion. They're saved at 720p if you choose it, on some lower-end phones, or if 1080p doesn't work on your device.

Tips

  • Sound: the ticks slow down as the wheel does, and a chime plays on the winner. On iPhone the preview plays sound even with the silent switch on. You can turn sound off with the Sound switch.
  • Green screen: turn it on to get the wheel on a solid green background. In CapCut or another editor, add the video as an overlay and remove the green (chroma key) to put the wheel over your own footage.
  • Pinned outcome: for skits and challenges you can pick the winner before you spin; the spin looks just the same. Use Random for real giveaways.
  • Just the result: Export image saves the moment the winner is shown, as a PNG.

Questions

Is it free? Is there a watermark?

It's free, with no signup and no watermark. The video you save shows the same spin you saw in the preview.

Are my entries uploaded anywhere?

No. The wheel, the spin and the video are all made in your browser, and nothing is sent to us. The last wheel you made is remembered on your device so a reload doesn't lose it; Clear removes it.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, in Safari on iPhone (iOS 16.4 or later), in Chrome on Android and in recent desktop browsers. If your browser can't make videos, the page says so, and you can still save the result as an image. Apps like Instagram and TikTok open links in their own browser, which can't save files: open the page in Safari or Chrome instead.

Why is my video silent?

First check that Sound is switched on. The ticks and the win chime go into the video where the browser can encode sound, including Safari on iOS 26 and later. Elsewhere the video is saved without sound, and the export panel tells you so before you start. You can add music or sound in your video editor afterwards.

Is the result random?

Yes. Every slice has the same chance, and each spin is independent. For skits and challenges you can pin the outcome before spinning; for real giveaways and prize draws, keep it on Random.

How many entries can I add?

From 2 to 30, one per line, each up to 40 characters. Emoji and other scripts such as Hindi, Bengali and Arabic work too.

How do I save the video to my Photos or Gallery?

When the video is ready, tap Save video. On iPhone that opens the share sheet: choose Save Video to put it in Photos. On Android, choose the app you want to post to, or use Download to save it to your phone. On a computer, the video downloads as an MP4.
